xs650 hardtail questions

Been Around the Block
So, I have built a drop seat hardtail, but I used inferior products and methods. Not smart but it was a great learning experience.

Now, I am going to chop that rearend off and make a more traditional bobber hardtail, and I want to do it right. I bought some steel tubing to match the OD of my original frame and I am looking for someone that can bend my tubing. I have talked to pretty much every welder/fabricator in my area. I have been able to locate only 1 person with the correct dies to bend my tubing. I will admit that I have never sent tubing out to get bent before so I was surprised to hear him say it would cost $70 to do 4 bends, one on each piece.

Is that a reasonable price? I ask because it seems like a lot to me, and I hopefully will build more bikes/frames in the future and want to know if I should justify buying my own bender.

Lets hear your thoughts.

That is a sweet bender. I will have to look into building one of those!

Thanks for the response.
