So Ive read books about porting cylindehead and test results are showing that gas flow is better when exhaust ports are very smooth. Like polished exhaust port surfaces are most flowing. But in intake it doesnt go like that, usually polishing intake port doesnt improve flow. So I dont smooth them, im pretty sure that "rough" surface will improve airflow. I kind of know why it is like that but just cant explain it. Here is excample of that. Found it in some companys website. They r selling intake manifolds, airfilters and kind of stuff.

polishing the intakes is not good and old school thoughts

i use 60 grit in a mandrel to polish the insides of my intakes

smoother surfaces cause a low air flow band that allows the air fuel mixture to coalesce and reform droplets on top of

possible reversion
