Just showed up from eBay. It’s in perfect condition and even has the speedometer function (wasn’t described in the listing).

Awesome.

Truck bed of wheels I don't need. One is a high shouldered wheel off of a tx750 Yamaha. I'm a sucker for shouldered aluminum hoops

Just came in today. Ordered a partial sheepskin pelt from eBay as a throw over seat cover for the longer rides on the dr and the beemer, and the seller sent me two. They are shorn a little shorter than I had hoped, but should still do the job.

The TX750 wheel is a direct swap to an XS650. The drum is bigger.
that's good to know. I assumed the tx and xs were the same. Really only bought them it for the hoop itself, but may keep the whole wheel for a future project.

Don't worry, put them in a grassy field for a few weeks and they will grow out. ;D

They say free bikes can be the most expensive ones, so as soon as the guy pulled up with it in my driveway, I gave him $100. I knew on the spot it was worth a heck of a lot more than that, complete with title.

1981 Honda CB650 four...

I cleaned the carbs, installed a temporary battery, fiddled with some wires, and got real nice vroom-vroom sounds out of those Sportster mufflers.

New battery, set of pod filters, replacement used master cylinder, and a set of fresh plugs and I took it out for a proper romp. Best $100 bike I've ever owned. (Laptop crashed with photos showing the cleaned up bike running, sadly). Still waiting on the missing turn signal lens, but everything works.

I already have a better seat, clip-ons, and maybe rearsets for it...
