$5 DIY piston ring compressor is 4" pvc connector (the thinner ones by landscaping at Lowes), bevel edge with file to match barrel, cut to 3/4" and use with 4" hose clamp. Set the beveled edge 1/8" above clamp to set into cyclinder well. Oil, then tighten fully, then back off a little. Lower cylinders and keep things straight as you tap lightly with your palm. Voila! -David

25-30 min to make with a straight file. File lip down at an approx angle, with the coupler standing. File to an almost sharp edge. Do both sides then stand on a table with a 3/4 Block next to it, put a sharpie on top and rotate the coupler to make a nice cutting line. Use a tape to measure the piston circumference and transfer. A small gap is wanted in the final product. Cut and place in clamp and align top just below piston top. -D

I used a "patent band" the last time cause 4 cylinders at once...and have just one compressor..
using the smooth side against the rings to make 4 alike.
