I'm getting ready to build a bracket racer and I figure I would document the journey. Starting off with a VT500C I picked up for 100 bucks. It's not much to look at but I guess in dragracing less is more right?

Consistency is king for bracket racing. Less weight is always nice because it typically makes a bike easier to handle and to be consistent, but one of the best bracket racing bikes is an Automatic Honda because it has "Repeatability".

I was going to say as light as possible. The less weight you have the less you have to try and accelerate from dead stop. But as its going to be a bracket racer maybe absolute light weight is not that important. As Teazer says consistency is the key.

Yeah if this thing could be titled I have a billion ideas for it but unfortunately it can't be well at least for 7 more years in Alabama
