So I found this 75 Yamaha DT400B basket case to build into a tracker of sorts, well it kind of already is but its evolved a few ways as ive gone thru the motions of building it. so I thought id put the stages so far, I built and posted a Honda shadow brat here last year and wanted to do something lighter and a bit more simple.

more progress, firmed up the tail with 1/4 " rod , more tig welding but ran out of argon. finished matching the ports on the jug prior to a over bore, testing clear clor paint over silver metallic, looks pretty nice so far, this will be the color of the tank and tail

now im working on the wiring, after reading all sorts of threads on 6 volt to 12 volt conversion i designed a new wiring layout. the 12v headlight is wired direct to the AC for best power and the LED tail lights and blinkers are DC from a small Cap/nicad bank charges thru a regulator rectifier.

Damn this is so freakn awesome. Cant wait to see how it turns out. The fab skills on the tail section and the expansion chamber are real impressive. Did you consider doing a full 12V conversion? I hope you don't have any issues but if you do, I can highly recommend the kit from powerdynamo in Germany.

Also, what will you do for carb? I ran a 34mm (up from the 32mm) Mikuni VM carb. Went pretty good with some Boysen performance reeds in it too - i rekon the stock stainless ones are too stiff.

Will you run the original oil pump or convert to premix?
