Third Times a Charm CB175

We bolted the hub to a drill press and rotor broached the holes. You can see the dings we need to remove that were there previously.

Third Times a Charm CB175

Next we used a Harbor Freight High Speed mini saw to remove most of the material then it took us and hour to get the hub centered correctly on the mill. https://vimeo.com/132013427

Well you gotta love the Italians and they love their curves. Here is what the steering stem measures for the 32mm cerianis.

Re: Third Times a Charm CB175

The cb175 All Balls Racing Steering Stem roller bearings offered a slight challenge. The bottoms bearing is a 27mm ID and the top is a 25mm ID. Soooo we measured and the bottom bearing ID was 26.85" ish. So our phone a friend suggested that we roll a feeler gage for a shim to get an idea for making a sleeve.

I swear these parts arriving in the mail are a test or the Italians drank too much wine while machining.

Re: Third Times a Charm CB175

So we put our all balls in the freezer and will install the chases after we
heat up our stem. (That is how the instructions should read)

Re: Third Times a Charm CB175

Now back to the work and lacing hubs. Zeke hand filed finished sanding and polished the hubs before lacing with Buchanan's stainless spokes.

Re: Third Times a Charm CB175

Picked up some Ospho to take care of any rust in the cracks changes iron oxide to iron phosphate. You can watch it change.
