So I searched around for some SIF Bronze 101 rods and they are not available in NA AFAIK. I found the US equivalents and the smallest quantity I have found so far is 11 pounds at almost $30/pound plus flux system, so that ain't happening. I can get 50# on line a for a little less per pound but I couldn't use that much rod in 10 lifetimes.

What are the specialist bicycle frame makers using and where do they get it from?

LFB. I get it from Praxair. SIF is a manganese/tin bronze and is toxic as hell, comparatively. The LFB is low fuming and copper/zinc.

Thanks guys. I see I have more research to do. SIFBRONZE 101 is the same as Harris #17 and I suspect it might fume more than LFB but it's strength is 50% higher.

Are SifBronze still in business, they used to be part of the Atco group of companies and shared factory space with a company I used to work for in 1987.
A friend built a Harley engined chopper when he worked for them.

Here I am.

Great photos! I keep threatening to go to BMST meet but I wind up at SpeedWeek instead. Both great events. Good to see someone else besides me interested in LSR.
