I've got a fever...

...and the only prescription is, more oldschool.

I've been wasting a lot of my time lately on Craigslist looking for the perfect family car (I don't have any cash to buy anything... but that's never stopped my wife from looking at houses either)

Found an '85 Toyota Cressida wagon the other day:

But imagine it a bit more like this:

and add Japanese style fender mirrors. Rear wheel drive, 190hp, basically a supra... but in wagon form.

Also on my short list but for entirely different reasons, one of these:

1991 CB7, debateably oldschool, and front wheel drive. But I grew up in one of these, learned how to drive and how to do E-brake turns in one of these. I still think it's a really good looking car in white. There's a guy at one of the local parts stores that looks a bit like this but with a Thule ski rack on top, which also looks really cool.

When I was really little my parents had an Audi Fox:

Think this but with 2 more doors. I'd love one of these, but since way back then I have never even seen one... ever.

Anyone else have the fever? Other equally as cool/weird suggestions? Rear wheel drive wagons?

Ahh, yeah.

I think a guy in my neighborhood has a 510 sedan or coupe, I've only really seen the front end of it poking out from all the junk in the garage.

Also came across this while looking for 510s

I dont love the square body Japanese stuff from the 80s. Looks too much like an 80s robot toy or something to me. Haha. That said, the early 90s Accord you posted earlier is SLICK as snot.

If it were me... Id be looking for a late 80s BMW E30 Wagon. Easy to work on, parts are actually pretty cheap, can be made to really haul ass, and that front end is one of the prettiest BMW ever built.

I've enjoyed the front of that bmw as well.

haha, here's my bucket list of vehicles

I think Mystas point has been been missed a bit, haha... Old school, interesting family cars. Wagons especially. Haha.

I guess that just means the fever's widespread, it's an epidemic!

If it weren't for the family I'd maybe have me one of these:

Or even one of these:

1975-honda-civic-cvcc.jpg

Mount up a set of '00 Civic 7 spokes, cut the roof off, weld the doors shut, paint it championship white, with two bright red Recaros in the front and a b16 under the hood. Saw one chopped and welded once and have never been able to get it out of my head since.

Shoot, if the family wasnt a consideration...

Number one on my list is the classic late 70s Datsun 240z.

Me too Von, no other car does it for me like the original Z. Hard to come by around my parts so I'd take any of the S30 models.

Dumped some waste oil last night at Autozone, and that accord that I mentioned in the original post was there:

Autozone.jpg

Chatted a bit with the guy that owns it and asked if he'd be interested in selling it ever, he told me that he's giving it to his brother who will be learning how to drive in it. I want mine back so bad... and if all worked out as planned it would look just like the above when done with it.
