Just For Fun --- How OLD Are You?

57 years young last April 20.
Been riding since 1965.
First ride: 1952 Matchless single in a 1948(?) plunger frame – made it almost across my Buddy’s back yard.
Have owned: 1965 Honda step through, 1948 Harley Hummer, 1967 and 1968 (2 of ‘em) Yamaha 350’s, 1971 CL450, 1967 Yamaha twinjet, 1973 RD350, 1971 Yamaha CS3C 200cc Street Scrambler, Hodakas of various years, 1971 Kawasaki G3 100cc, mid-sixties Bridgestone Model 7 50cc sport, mid-sixties Yamaha YJ2 60cc, 1971 Honda CD175, 1976 750 Honda, 1977 Suzuki GS550, XV920RH café. I’m a real packrat – still have a lot of these bikes in various states of disrepair.
Have also swung a leg over various other Japanese, Italian and British bikes.
Rode constantly from 1965 to the late ‘70’s, then again for a couple of years in the mid-eighties. Have motocrossed, ridden trials, flat tracked (sponsored by Central Ontario Cycle in 1986), and took the RACE school years ago but never road raced.
Ride sporadically on the street these days.

34 -- 35 next month. Started on dirt bikes at 8 years old, but didn't get a street bike until last year. put 3500 KM's on it in a month and have been riding it since. POS CM400T, that is now a CB450T. Wish I got a street bike sooner but I would likely be dead. Haven't done the ton yet as I am not sure the motor can take the revs but I have hit 90 MPH once and it seemed ok. Might try it soon and hope I survive!

Well my driver's license says I'm 58, but my wife says I still act like I'm 18. I just celebrated my 40th anniversary of riding street bikes! I learned to ride on a Honda CB450 thanks to a very generous, and trusting, fraternity brother.

Started on Japanese bikes, did the Harley thing for a while then discovered Buell in 1995. I still have two 1995 Buell Thunderbolts, one I bought new. I guess I've always been a "motorhead", drag racing cars in high school and college, always working on my cars when I had the time and money, and workings on friends stuff when I didn't.

When my son turned 16 in 2003 we started drag racing again and that's when I started drag racing bikes. I ride one of the Buells in our Friday Night Street Racing class and built a turbocharged Harley V-Rod for IHRA Bike on Sundays.

Thanks to Carpy and sites like Do the Ton (the best forum by far), I got the cafe racer bug. I now have four Honda CB750s in my garage; 1975 CB750F that I ride daily, a 1976 CB750K being resurrected, a 1975 CB750F in line for cafe transformation for my son and a 1976 CB750F for parts or resurrection if I can get it titled.

I'm glad I found you guys and I'm looking forward to sharing ideas and stories. I like building them as much as riding 'em!

I'm 26. Started riding dirt bikes at 10, and quads by 14/15. Still own an 88 Kawasaki Tecate 250F race quad for playing in the dirt. Bought my first road bike when I turned 18...a 2002 Honda ACE750. I now own a VTX 1800 Retro, 1973 Yamaha TX650, and a 1978 Yamaha XS650B.

Got my first bike, an '81 CB400T, when I was 16. Rode that through high school and college. Stopped riding and sold the bike when I moved to Atlanta with all the crazy traffic.

Just bought my '72 CL450 last September after more than 10 years without a bike. I live out in the suburbs now 5 minutes from the country roads so traffic isn't that bad anymore. I can also now afford really good life and health insurance policies. ;)

I'm 21, learnt to ride out at the family farm on a Suzuki 50cc when I was maybe 7. Graduated to an 80cc something-or-other, and then had the very occasional ride on a Suza DR250 (which felt like THE biggest bike on earth!).

Got my learners permit last year and rode a loaned DR-Z400E. Loved it, so upgraded to a provisional licence this year and bought a junker Aprilia RS125 which I fixed up and currently ride. Project in the works is my GS850.

Fastest ridden: 90mph (RS125; should blast the ton with stock sprocket, I'm running -1 on the front)

Cheers guys - boingk

56 - started riding at 18 on a 66 650 BSA Lighting. Moved to a 76 GL1000, a 86 Sporters 883. Currently have a 97 VFR750, 99 Yamaha R6 (track bike), and a 81 Suzuki GS650E which I hopefully will turn out to be my Cafe Bike. As a side note, wife rides a 02 Suzuki SV650S.

I'm 44. I've been riding since I was 15 years old. My first bike was a Honda CM 400. I've been riding dirt bikes for many years and haven't had a street bike since '98 (I had a sick KZ 1000 street fighter). Anyway, I just got the cafe bug back and bought a KZ 750 twin basket case for $50. Hopefully, I'll be riding before I turn 60!

Im 31...about to turn 32!
first bike: 1991 Suzuki GS500
Current: 79 Honda cb650, 1974 Honda CB 550E(wifes project, its in pieces at the moment)
Been on the street since I was 18. Only high school kid with a bike.

(true story; in my senior year I got extra credit for taking my teacher for a ride(she was hot))

It is Blue and she loves it. She started out with a Kaw EL250, moved to a Suzuli Intruder 800 then I got her to try the SV650S and that was that. She rides it on the steet and has done 4 track days on it.
Be Safe out there

Haven't posted on this thread yet... so I'm 26 and showing no signs of maturing beyond my 16 year old state of mind.

23 Haven't owned a Cafe before but am in the process of building a cheapo for the girlfriend. Started riding at 16 on dirtbikes graduated to a Honda Hawk (NT650) in 2006. In Japan I owned a 96 Suzuki SRAD GSXR 750 and high sided the shit outa that thing (from knee down to over the bars) so I wouldn't go off the side of Okutama mountain about a week before I was going to sell the bike. Classic, I know. Once I returned to the states I bought a 2006 GSXR 750 and am bored with riding sport bikes in America. Just not as fun or safe. So wherever I land next I plan to build myself a cafe. Maybe a dirt tracker, cafe hybrid,..more wrench monkeys style (is there a designation for that?) Anyway, thats me.

30 years old now, learned to ride at 28. Late bloomer I guess. I had the folks that would NOT allow their kids to have motorcycles growing up. Then when I moved out I just didnt have the desire to ride until a couple of years ago. Started on dirt with an 07 Yamaha YZ250F, then moved to the street with a 06 Suzuki DR650 dual sport. Sold both of those when I found out the wife was preggo. Needed to start putting money aside for baby stuff and all. But after 5 months without a bike I was dying, so I went and bought a project 71 CL350 with a 71 CB350 parts bike for $400. Will build on it over the winter and hopefully have a nice cafe come spring time.

I'm 27 been riding very rarely for the last few years, just picked up a coupld cb360's for a winter build, will be fully riding next summer. If things are quick a bit this fall too!

I'm 50. Started riding on a mini-bike at 7, graduated to a Honda Trail 70, then a Yamaha MX 175 and then a Yamaha MX 250. A bunch of us got caught out on Edwards at Rogers by the AP's when a buddy got his license and plated his Honda. Parents sold the Yamaha, but allowed me to buy my own Honda SL 125 a few months later. I rode that through jr. high, high school and part of college for commuting mostly. Have rode ATV's lately, but I'm just now getting back into the 2 wheels and road. Picked up a Honda CB500, tore it down and now getting ready for the fun part.

I'm 32, been riding since I was 8 years old. Got my first "legal bike" at 18 but rode mini bikes, dirt bikes and mopeds through most of my childhood.

I'm 29, and just really started riding last year, even though I have had a license since I was 18. I bought a 72 CB 350 this year to fill that empty void in my life, ha ha!
