doesnt look bad if its what you are looking for. Especially if its cheap

Are those CV carbs with pods? the chrome cap on the top makes me think so?

Cheapo pods. Could be round slide mikuni or Hitachi. Don't look like Cv to me.

The bike overall is average. The tank isn't the right fit for the style and sits too high. The seat seems too long. But on the flip side looks like it's pretty clean and in capable hands the build could be turned around to something better.

Also have to ask yourself if xj 650 is enough jam because you can use the xj1100 and build almost the exact same bike.

If you like the looks of a brat style bike get it for 1500 or less.
Those bikes had some very noisey top end chatter if I remember right.

Most of these guys are very biased in there opinions. ;D

If you want a more cafe bike perhaps a Seca is in order?

haha

Swirly wheels, shaft-drive, single front disk make it a XJ650 Maxim that came with Hitachi CV carbs and do not take well to cheap pods. It's had lots of work (custom rear frame/seat, tank knee indents and flat bottom, clip-ons, bobbed front fender) so it cannot go back to stock w/o a lot of work - if that matters. Oddly it looks like the OEM exhaust (4-2 with crossover pipe). Rear shock size is limited by shaft swingarm travel limits. Good bikes for every day riding in stock form. Looks like this one is a "brat" for shorter legged/longer armed folks.

You guys are gunna hate my bike then, it has a lot of the same features as this bike... :-\

Good thing I can take criticism well. Lmao
