Honda CBX250 1986

Been Around the Block
Just got this on the road this week, looking forward to a first proper ride over the weekend :) Not sure what I'll be doing to it so thought I would pop it in Specials. 1986 Honda CBX 260 (same year as me), nice lightweight little bike that you don't see too often. Will give it a few little tweaks over time, but for the moment it will be ridden!

Had a bit of a play with the CBX over the last week. Running well and surprisingly nice to ride, so it was time to have a tinker. Looking for a new appearance for the bike I took all of the ratty white plastics off the bike, repaired a few cracks, and decided it was time for a colour change. I've been wanting to paint a vehicle flat brown for a little while now, so the CBX became the tester with a quick rattle can brown paint job. All back together and I'm enjoying riding it even more. Bar end mirrors have made a world of difference to visibility too.

nice score, the worthy successor to the CB250RS but with improved handling.
that front end and wheel combo was sought after in the drag racing world for a while before someone invented super lightweight 3 spoke wheels some years later

the colours not my cup of tea (or hot chocolate for that matter), i lived thru the 70s where dark brown was the colour of choice for way too many things (including toilet paper......) but it certainly makes it look a lot different, makes it seem heaps smaller for some reason

don't forget to let Vicroads know about the colour change too, they do like to be involved in these sorts of projects
incidentally its eligible for classic rego too, just paid mine today ($140 for 90 days)

Nice find, I like those bikes. One popped up locally a while ago but as is always the case I was brake. I actually love the stock colour scheme, but I love white bikes anyway.

Have fun with it.
