Phew bit of catching up to do here

I thought the headlight problem was just an isolated mishap!

Fortunately only one of mine fell completely out, the other one was loose but it enabled me to make it home (It wasn't far, and daytime).

Definitely a good idea for everyone to check it on their new bikes.

Crazy
I lost one of mine as well

Just upgraded the front brake master cylinder with a nissin unit from a 96 CB250 nighthawk i had on an old bike it was plug and play, the stock hose and brake light switch connectors went on with out a hitch.
its a little harder on the feel but it added about 40% extra braking force to the front with out any other changes, except new brake fluid.
(excuse the stripped screw, PO hacked it, getting new ones tommorow)

Yup thats pretty much the same as fitted as standard on my UK ACe

updates from Hartford,

not too sure about their built quality of their bikes, but customer services are fairly reasonable. They got back to me, fairly promising that their parts are interchangeable with ACE 125. And referred me to their local dealer in HK regarding the parts needed for ACE 125 rear brake from their My Dream 125, gonna call them in the next day or two to find out the costs of parts +/- labour cost.

Will keep you guys posted.

Having just crash tested Jessica (T boned a car at between 5-10mph) I can attest they are tough cookies.

As shes new will be claiming for new forks & wheel plus a tank & indicator off the other driver but I was able to ride her home

Play spot the damage

Fairing positioned roughly.
Some things good, some things bad.
Good things are that the current handlebars etc. fit perfectly and nothing hits lock-to-lock. Screen allows me to tuck right down to try and pick up a little more speed.
Really the only bad thing is I will have to replace everything adjacent to the crankcase and exhaust pipe, but I expected that.

Sorry to hear about Jessica, I hope you get her back to 100% soon.

Once I get Jessica back will be hooking my GoPro up and weather permitting be taking her for a spin along one of my favourite local roads, the Cat & Fiddle. Reputedly Britains most dangerous road fro bikers.

Fork Oil Question:

Anyone know the correct capacity for the front forks?

I ordered the fork upgrade kit from OORacing including two 110ml 30W Silkolene weight oil bottles and two 2.54 cm spacers. So this is the correct capacity coz I guess they know what they are doing.

I have a question too, mainly for those who put the 150cxc big bore kit:
- Is the ooracing kit the same product you can find on ebay from different (mainly chinese) sellers ?
for instance:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/150cc-BARREL-PISTON-KIT-for-Chinese-125cc-CG125-copies-Motorcycle-New-/150891831683?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item2321daa183
and
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/UK-Stock-NEW-150cc-Big-Bore-Cylinder-Head-For-CG125-Engines-156FM1-2-/321207171794?pt=UK_Collectables_OtherTransportation_RL&hash=item4ac9707ad2

I guess these are the same product/quality, no ? Asking because I find OOracing very nice but a bit pricey as a general rule.

Aye I did the same upgrade on my forks before they got bent but stupidly chucked the bottle and forgot to note how much was in them, Thanks :)

Not 100% certain but I suspect they probably are.

On other hand I think I would prefer to deal with Adrian at OO rather than an unknow ebayer even if they are the same item cheaper plus as I'm in the UK i can generally get stuff off him next day delivery rather than paying a fotune in freight costs + import taxes & a longer wait (although there are already taxes included but the price I see is the price I pay)

true, but they have made sure the kits fit and are the right parts, a couple of guys on another ace group had the wrong parts sent from china , mainly a 125cc jug instead of the 150.. and they had issues getting it changed. and if you look at the stock parts oo racing have for the ace they are comparable in price to http://www.skyteamparts.com/store/ace/
for example a front wheel from skyteam parts is £200.17 and its £89.99 from ooracing.
pays to check all the sources of parts before you put your money down. but the quality is most likely the same for all the big bore kits , i agree there.

what diameter where the spacers ?

That £200 price is a complete wheelinc tire & disc. Wheelonly (which is what OO sell) are £102.

Getting the parts for Jessica from Skyteam at 30% discount as my mate is a Skyteam Dealer, just dont tell the insurance company ;o)

ahh cool you learn something new everyday
And I've got to say Rubens & Charlie at Skyteam in Yeovil are really nice people to deal with.

Apparently they ship parts all over the world including back to China!!

One of their regular orders is 4 (Ace) tanks & seat sets at a time to some chap in the states whos converting old Hondas into cafe racers

purchased a small plastic rear guard tail light with leds to replace rear guard from "super cheap auto" today and fitted . looks good and good value for under $50. left plastic section of rear guard in place and will put some core flute under seat for water proofing. used reflector from tail light section to keep it legal.

will try and post photos at a further date. also added iridium plug and have got a quote on a header from local exhaust place. have dug out a small megaphone exhaust muffler from my parts and this will be welded to header. should improve power I am hoping.

pete

What should the diameter of the header pipe be for a single wall stainless? as the original external wall is 35mm, and the internal wall is a lot smaller ( not measured) but would guess at 25mm?
