Relocating fuses

Hi all,
Long story short, I bought a parts bike to fix my father-in-law's CB750. I didn't need any parts off of it, so I started tinkering and now I (almost) have a runner!

A coworker put new bars of his Aprilia sxv450 right before he sold it and bought a R6 and offered me his old bars. As we all know, free is ALWAYS in the budget, so I bought him a coffee and accepted. Score one for me!

Friday I ordered some Protaper universal riser adapters so that I can install my 1 1/8" alloy bars in place of my massive, buckhorn bars. An anxious 3 day wait later and viola!

I dry-fitted the bars last night and realized a smallish detail that I'd overlooked: the DOHC CB750 casts it's fuse box into the OEM top bar clamp. Everywhere I've looked for idea about dirtbike bars on a CB, people run normal, 7/8" bars and so can use the top clamp.

Does anyone have any experience with fat bars and relocating the fuses, or making them work? Any ideas for me to try? Money is a HUGE object.

don't know for sure but i'd guess all the wires that go to and from the fuse holder run through the headlight shell so you could just change the wiring to single in-line fuse holders and keep them hidden inside the shell

the really simple ones appear to be $1 each on the bay of E

a neater choice might be a update to blade fuses in a 4 or 6 fuse box (still only a couple of ebay dollars, keep searching on the above link, they should be there somewhere, I got one for my CB750 for about $5) and it might still hide inside shell or could be mounted under tank with some lengthening/rerouting of wires

I relocated my fuses back to my now relocated battery box under the right side cover. a company called Namz offers a 4 fuse(atc mini style) fuse holder with a weather proof cover. its pretty nice and was only $16. wire it up the same way as stock. I could take some pics of it if you cant find it. I believe I ordered thru Parts Unlimited.

It's a bit more expensive option but you can get the FB-11 fuse box on pre-order through sonreir, look him up on here. It's a pretty sweet setup that relocates fuses and contains relays for your ignition, horn, lights, etc. I have the same issue with my fuses I think I'm going to go with a motogadget munit just for the additional functionality.

What I wouldn't give to have that kind of spare capital! As it stands, I have to make due with what I can scrounge/fab/beg/raid from junk piles.
For the time being, I think I've managed to come up with a workable solution: I've filled the bottom of the fuse box with epoxy to keep it waterproof and prevent shorting/loosening of terminals, then stuffed it inside the headlamp for now. Not ideal, but it'll get the job done until I have enough spare time/bits to rig something up using mini blade fuses.

I came up with a solution!
Acquired some fuse terminals from te "spare" wiring harness in our Parts Dept. I even managed to get close matches to the original wiring so I could splice them into the factory harness connector!
Now my tiny new fuse "box" is no longer glass, and it's nestled all cozy in my headlamp!
