1978 CB750F: first build

This was my first build. Actually the first motorcycle I've even owned. I've caught the cafe fever and I still have additional tweaks planned but here are some images from the build so far:

It started with the basics and kicked into high gear after my a wreck (I was lucky) that left me with a big dent in the tank. I tried to repair then dent but after plenty of failed attempts decided to take my lemons and make lemonade as you can see. I'd love any feed back from you guys.

Hey man. Nice pull for a first bike. Should be a lot of fun.

I'd keep working that tank if I were you though. Get a few more light coats of filler on there and keep working the low spots. Get a guide coat on there to see where the low spots are so you can fill them in more. You want that thing to be smooth like an egg, not lumpy like that. Although, black is a very unforgiving color for body work.

Thanks for the feedback man. Of course there's no way you could have known it but during the build I decided that I was actually going to intentionally keep the tank and other painted parts looking rough and tumble. I spent many hours on the tank and I was willing to go the extra mile but I found myself just too in love with some of the rougher bikes I've seen here on Do The Ton. Maybe next time I'll go for a completely beautified bike, but I just felt this was an honest way to begin my own tribute to the sport and those that came before me.

Right on, man. I can dig it, for sure. Just didnt know that's the look you were going for.
