Fulmer helmets

I saw a new Fulmer 3/4 helmet today at a Honda bike shop. It was a reproduction of the Captain America lid in Easyrider. Very accurate copy. They also have a line of metalflake lids for those who want the vintage look and the safety of DOT approved. These are not the same Arthur Fulmer helmets of the 70s, they are made in Taiwan but look to be of decent quality at around $100.

They're good helmets for the money . The microfiber inside is comfortable and the glitter ones are just groovy . A friend of mine has one with the Union Jack on it . Says it can get noisy (could just be the fitting ) but he overall loves the helmet .

Anyone out there know where I can find these locally (Toronto)?

I've been searching around on the net and I'm finding that Fulmer doesn't do online sales. I'm really wanting that gold V2!

I tried on a large Easy Rider at Parkway Honda Powerhouse near Eglinton and DVP. Thibault is the Canadian distributor so any shop with their catalogue can order one. Motoretta carries Fulmer.

I had a full face Fulmer helmet. It was comfortable and a good helmet for the $.

I agree, a full face gold flake would be very nice.

Just ordered a red metallic one from my local Fulmer distributor. Less than $90 total. Not bad.

My wife has the green metal flake Fulmer reissue. She likes it. I think it looks awesome. It was $89+tax. Apparently they are on back order from Fulmer all over the country.

Mine on left (Nolan N model), My wife's on the right (Fulmer Bobber w/ NOS bubble shield). I love my helmet but will admit that hers is way cool.

Our local (Sonora, CA) Honda/Yamaha dealer is going out of business. Today is the last day, and they are selling these Fulmer helmets for $40 - 50. I saw a bunch of the "Captain America" and pink metallics. A few of some other colors but not much.

hey guys, I normally wear a Shoei full face, but am interested in getting a vintage style helmet (DOT approved), for riding around town. Does anyone know how these compare with the Daytona helmet http://www.bikersden.com/shop/shopexd.asp?id=1028 or the Davida Helmets http://british-classics.com/Davida%20Speedster%20Helmet.html . looking for something low profile (so i don't look like a spaceman). I would love to get a Ruby helmet, but they go for more than I paid for my bike.
If price isnt an issue between the three, what would you get? any pics of you guys wearing them?
Thanks for your help. I may not post often, but this forum eats up a large chunk of my life...

It wouldn't surprise me if the Fulmer and Daytona helmets were made in the same factory. They look very similar. They are not as low profile as a true vintage 3/4. The Davida is very nicely made but still a little thick. The Ruby is the most puffy looking, a friend of mine tried one on and said it's huge. No current DOT 3/4 is as low as a vintage one.

I have a fulmer v2. got it about a year ago... fits awesome and you don't feel like a space ranger while riding.

Agreed, I ended up tracking down one of the gold metal flake 3/4 helmets and I love it. They're great helmets, and are really very well made for the price charged.

Definitely lower profile than the majority of open faces I tried on, which all felt like I was wearing a bowling ball.

There's a local shop in Toronto stocking the Ruby helmets up in Yorkville. They are beautifully made lids, but still seem to sit pretty high on the head. And the $800-$1000 bucks is a lot to drop on a helmet for me personally, though I guess I do get the the whole "handmade bespoke luxury helmet" jazz.
