so i know i left two parts out of my engine and was wondering where they went since im pretty sure honda didn't throw random parts into the bike to confuse people any help would be great these two parts are from a 1972 cl350 again any help would be great. I have turned over the engine or anything just found these behind my cabinets today the engine still is somewhat in parts more or less.

What does the wire connector look like? I think that's for the neutral indicator wire. The black piece is definitely the sensor. The shiny piece is supposed to have a connector (that looks like it was ripped off) for the wire.

what wire? i didn't see any loose wires. is it repairable?

Yes. You should have a beige wire of the 5 wires in the connector for your alternator. That beige wire goes to your neutral indicator light. It doesn't hurt to not have the switch. It just makes it harder to know if you're in neutral when starting the bike or sitting at a light. I'm guessing it was ripped off at some point by the chain, since it usually runs behind the same cover. You can buy a replacement switch from eBay or somewhere and get the appropriate wire to connect. In that pic, you're holding the sensor. The chrome "roller" as you called it connects the wire and fits into that hole. The screw mounts it into the cover from behind.

ok thank you i was worried id have to tear it down again to put it back.
Not gonna lie. That is only part of the mechanism. Hopefully the rest is bolted in the there and not loose in the motor. I figure you would know if something was loose and not bolted in. The arrow indicates what you have in your hand... The switch is in a hole and hidden under the front sprocket cover.
