LED strip tail lights

Coast to Coast
Ok, so I ordered 2 different styles of ebay LED integrated tail lights. this one http://www.ebay.com/itm/Car-Motorcycle-33LED-SMD-2835-12V-Tail-Brake-DRL-Driving-LED-Strip-Light-Lamp/271972423196?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649 arrived first.

Since my bike is not complete, first thing I did was take it outside to my car in the sun and hook it to the battery. Running light, not visible from 10ft, same with turn signals, brake light better but not enough to be safe. Now this might work fine at night, but I don't ride only at night.

So this makes me pretty sure that my current idea is a good one. What I am planning is to do something similar to the R6 and a few other bikes, have an easily detachable plate carrier, that also has turn signals and tail/brake light. But also have an LED integrated strip light in the rear hoop. My reasoning is I want to be as visible as possible, but if I go to a show and want the bike as clean looking as possible I can pull a few bolts and have the tail look very clean.

I also have 1 of these on the way to test http://www.ebay.com/itm/Motorcycle-Integrated-48LED-8-Tail-Brake-Stop-Turn-Signal-Running-Light-Strip/302396183784?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649 On this one I would like to find out how it compares to the DCC one https://www.dimecitycycles.com/flexible-led-integrated-tail-light-indicators.html . Honestly I am guessing that even the better quality ones I wouldn't want to be my only light in the rear.

Was the car running? The strip probably isn't regulated so it's brightness could vary significantly depending on the voltage.

Cheers

Unfortunately, eBay can be hit and miss for this kind of stuff. I would go with a trusted vendor if you're not 100% sure you know what you're getting.

Got this one today, https://m.ebay.com/itm/Motorcycle-Integrated-48LED-8-Tail-Brake-Stop-Turn-Signal-Running-Light-Strip/302396183784?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&_mwBanner=1 . it is bright enough to be useful.
