1976 CB550 Scrambler - Project Warpig

Stem bearings replaced. Front suspension rebuilt (Sonic Springs, Mikes XS Emulators, TTR400 Fork Caps with Adj Preload and all balls seals). A big thanks to DaveDoug for his knowledge and guidance through the process.

New Tires are mounted (Heidenau K60 Scouts) . Its back on 2 wheels and it fired right up last night. Tonight I need to pull the carbs, adjust jetting and take care of vacuum leaks.

And to add to the pressure of trying to get this done in less than 3 weeks...I sold this and don't currently have a ridable bike...whoops

I, too have an SV650 as well as numerous project vintage bikes. I know the struggle of deciding on keep or sell the SV, and everytime I click the start button and hit the road I remember why I still have it.

Check out the 2x4 for a kickstand spacer..lol

More updates to follow

The maiden voyage was about 1 week before we were planning to head to the hills of KY for some hooliganism. The plan was to make this bike to handle anything thrown at it dirt, gravel, etc.

Spent time tidying up loose ends. The petcock on the green/black tank was leaking and there aren't rebuild kits. Instead of spending $100 for a NOS petcock, I bought a reproduction for my backup tank. Also, since the bike is raised 1.5", the kickstand wouldn't reach. So instead of riding around with a 2x4 zip tied to the kickstand, I lengthened the stock one.

Well...the smurf motor had different plans.

There are a lot of things that could have caused the distruction below but we all blame our prospect Lil' p and his hammer trying to get the kickstarter on. Thus resulting in this:

Everything on the kickstarter shaft came off and ended up in the oil pan. Also dropped a shift fork.

So...yeah. F blue motors!! and lil' p
