  • advCo: Get 'er done and send it
    Jul 16, 2018, 16:27:10
  • Maritime: Ha, will do
    Jul 16, 2018, 16:27:28
  • advCo: Sucks having stuff like that on your to do list and no time to do it
    Jul 16, 2018, 16:33:58
  • Maritime: Yep, especially when you've already done it twice before.
    Jul 16, 2018, 16:34:35
  • advCo: Even worse. That';s how I felt about cleaning the tank on the 360
    Jul 16, 2018, 16:45:18
  • Maritime: Morning, didn;t get to the damn bike last night.
    Jul 17, 2018, 08:48:08
  • advCo: mornin'
    Jul 17, 2018, 09:09:13
  • Maritime: how'd the counters look after removing the forms?
    Jul 17, 2018, 09:16:10
  • advCo: Pretty darn good overall. Had a leak in the form so theres a couple spots that aren't as smooth as I'd like along the edges but other than that it looks great
    Jul 17, 2018, 09:29:54
  • Maritime: Cool, can you patch and polish the off spots?
    Jul 17, 2018, 09:38:46
  • Maritime: Or use an epoxy?
    Jul 17, 2018, 09:38:58
  • advCo: Yeah, i think I'm gonna use some sandy mix w/epoxy mixed in for adhesion. Its only like a 18" area. Was talking to Irk about it yesterday
    Jul 17, 2018, 09:42:43
  • Maritime: Cool. I figured there was a way to fix minor flaws, I've done big concrete work and had some form issues and we've fixed them with different things depending on the issue
    Jul 17, 2018, 09:55:58
  • advCo: Yeah, I'll figure something out. I've done a lot of floors but nothing for interior use like this, its a bit more delicate
    Jul 17, 2018, 09:57:01
  • advCo: Tried to get some pics last night but the lighting is not the best
    Jul 17, 2018, 09:57:15
  • advCo: I'll post em in the "build this week" thread
    Jul 17, 2018, 10:01:38
  • Maritime: Cool. look forward to seeing them
    Jul 17, 2018, 10:17:25
  • Maritime: They look pretty good, good crisp edge on the waterfall side
    Jul 17, 2018, 10:21:31
  • Maritime: Do you need to seal them? I can't remember, I looked at doing these but Jill said no so I stopped reading up on all the process
    Jul 17, 2018, 10:22:28
  • advCo: Yeah, sealing is super important cuz of the porosity of the concrete. I have an acrylic sealer and a polish, so it should have some gloss but not that 'wet' look of epoxy
    Jul 17, 2018, 12:11:11
  • Maritime: Cool. I figured.  Just like the stone tile we've installed all over. Has to be sealed and then done again 5-6 years later
    Jul 17, 2018, 13:08:48
  • Maritime: Fianlly road the GL after the ACV replacement, seems to have done the trick. no backfires and running much smoother
    Jul 18, 2018, 08:28:58
  • Maritime: one little missing o-ring can make such a difference
    Jul 18, 2018, 08:29:20
  • advCo: Nice man, always feels good to fix something like that
    Jul 18, 2018, 09:09:39
  • advCo: Sometimes the little victories are the best
    Jul 18, 2018, 09:18:46
  • Maritime: Very true.
    Jul 18, 2018, 10:58:56
  • advCo: Guess the 360 is running great for the kid who bought it. He was asking me last night what all needed to be done to put the electric start back in
    Jul 18, 2018, 11:00:16
  • Maritime: Nice, I got texts for about 3 weeks from the Kid who bought the CX, all on how to change things without screwing it up which was good
    Jul 18, 2018, 11:01:27
  • Maritime: He was getting his license this week, but was riding it around his hood for the last 6 weeks
    Jul 18, 2018, 11:01:57
  • advCo: Yeah. Sometimes I don't mind it. The guy who bought the XL was hounding me about it running rich for a while and he finally let up.
    Jul 18, 2018, 11:13:28
  • advCo: I care enough about the 360 that I'll give him a good detailed description of what all needs to be done
    Jul 18, 2018, 11:13:59
  • Maritime: Yep, he asked a lot of the right questions before buying and then after so I don't mind helping
    Jul 18, 2018, 11:26:40
  • advCo: Found a good tile place local, got the mosaics for 1/3 the price of Home Depot
    Jul 18, 2018, 12:27:46
  • advCo: They should know what I need for grout and all that as well.
    Jul 18, 2018, 12:28:01
  • Maritime: Cool. Thats always good when you find a place like that
    Jul 18, 2018, 12:33:32
  • advCo: Yeah its about 30 minutes, well porbably go get some samples first and then make a decision
    Jul 18, 2018, 12:40:48
  • advCo: As long as its mosaic sheets or bigger tiles i'll be happy. I just want it to go fast
    Jul 18, 2018, 12:41:04
  • advCo: I got like 2.5 weeks lol
    Jul 18, 2018, 12:41:15
  • Maritime: Ha, yes the sheets are easy to put up, took me a while to do mine because of the diamond pattern Jill wanted, a lot of cutting and fitting but if they were just straight it would have been fast and easy
    Jul 18, 2018, 12:43:09
  • advCo: I was gonna stay away since they are $15/each at HD, but the tile place has them for $5/each
    Jul 18, 2018, 12:51:04
  • advCo: I think we're between that and the long subway tiles
    Jul 18, 2018, 12:53:25
  • advCo: both should be pretty quick to install i think
    Jul 18, 2018, 12:53:33
  • Maritime: Subway are easy, and Mosaic on the sheets are fine too. I did a mix for the MIL's kitchen, subway then half a sheet of mosaic the subway again, took half a day and was done then an hour to grout the next day
    Jul 18, 2018, 14:08:26
  • advCo: Nice. I'll be happy if I can get it all laid in an 8-10 hour day
    Jul 18, 2018, 14:12:27
  • advCo: I can borrow a wet saw, should I grab it?
    Jul 18, 2018, 14:18:53
  • Maritime: Yes, they are great for cutting
    Jul 18, 2018, 14:19:24
  • Maritime: I used one for my shower and made life so much easier
    Jul 18, 2018, 14:20:29
  • Maritime: They make a huge mess though, use it outside if you can
    Jul 18, 2018, 14:21:04
  • advCo: Cool, yeah I've already pretty much covered our back porch in concrete, paint and sawdust, and its covered. Basically been my workshop for this entire project
    Jul 18, 2018, 14:26:06
  • Maritime: Ha yep, I have one of those too, right off the kitchen and just lined it with Poly and went to town.
