The Volkswagen Thread

I guess I'll play too and none of these cars have air-ride!

The old daily when c.b.s. first started up, I did 250 miles a day in this car and miss every second of it!

My old project that was 90% finished and sold a few yrs. ago to fund my house. Wish I finished it, I spent a whole winter doing all the body work on it and swapping a 16v head onto an aba.

mk1 rabbits are my dream car. Seriously, I think thats "it" for me. Very nice! What styling are dub guys calling that rabbit (with the racks & luggage, roughish/vintage feel)? Its kinda my bike build style inspiration.

Vr and it loves to break! I think there's something to do with atmoshperic pull and corrados every time the earth rotates around the sun it seems to spit out another part.

forgot to add that me and my dad are in the midst of restoring a 1959 beetle convertable.....try finding one of those 8)

Is the term you're looking for hoodride? The white one is too nice for a hood ride, but I don't think you were refering to it. I'd love a MK1 Rabbit or Pickup. I still miss my 84 Jetta.

my family restores old vdubs. pretty much all i know, besides what ive learned on my bike. mom got me into cars, dad got me into bikes. we are hopin to have our new shop open in austin within the next couple of months. heres my daily driver 66 bug, full resto just didnt make it a show car cause i wrecked my show car and didnt want to worry about it again. thinkin about selling it though.

Looking for a VW body. Beetle. As long as it bolts up to a 68 pan im interested. Doesnt need to be shiny or pretty, just solid enough that i wont have to spend forever getting it straight. Dont care if every panel is a different color. Hell it doesnt even need to be complete. I have doors, glass, bonnet, trunk-lid, etc. It does need fenders though. Let me know folks... Thanks, Mike.

thats a sweet bug man, im diggin the hoodride look.

ever since i could remember i wanted a 68' camaro ss, then one day it all changed, and now id take a v-dub over alot of cars.
heres my beetle, not 100% done, but then again are any project ever done? theres always something new to do.
its a 74, i went for a german/vintage look.

Thats sharp man!!! I wish I could work on mine more (or at all, its buried in a friends shop right now...). Once I can get a new shell, and fenders I sould be able to get my hood ride rollin!!!

Can't believe I haven't seen this until now....
This is my dad and I's the current project:

It is essentially a re-build of the one he built way back in the day:

i see some natives to the vortex community on here, good stuff :)

started out a stock 95 jetta

then i built it into a typical "vortex" approved, boosted, lowered mark 3 over the years
