Got the headlight lowered finally

Re: 1980 Honda CB400T Hawk

Man... You got me motivated. I have a 78 CB400T in storage that I need to get on. I like what you did to it man. The photos look good. Are those new rear shocks?

Re: 1980 Honda CB400T Hawk

Looks great, love the first pic.

You have any issues with the clubmans hitting the tank? I put superbike bars on mine and they ended up hitting the tank a bit, had the rotate them forward a bit, not before taking a chip of paint from the tank though. :(

Re: 1980 Honda CB400T Hawk

Still stock shocks on there now, although id like short shocks in the future.

I have been scratching the tank up with the bars, I knew they'd hit, and was trying hard to avoid that, but after letting some friends take her for a ride, it ended up dented anyways.

No problem though, its getting torn apart come winter

Re: 1980 Honda CB400T Hawk

Looks good man. Keep up the good work!

And on a side note... Put your wallet in your coat when youre riding... They like to fall out on the highway.

Re: 1980 Honda CB400T Hawk

Yeah, I usually have the wallet in the jacket, but I was just in front of my house for pics.

On a side note, 2 of my friends have been down on the pavement this week, but are both alright, u hope everyone's keeping the rubber down!

Re: 1980 Honda CB400T Hawk

Lookin' good! Makes me miss my old '81 CM400T. That was one dead reliable bike.
Rearsets are easy to adapt. I converted a set of '05 R6 rearsets to my '72 Yamaha DS7. That included modifying the hydrolic brake rearsets to work with the drum brake bike;)

And BTW, got any more pics of the '76 Trans Am S/E *drool*

Re: 1980 Honda CB400T Hawk

So do rearsets off darn near anything work with some homebrew creativity?

I may have more pics of the TA, its one of the professors at the college (custom cars and concepts program)

Pretty much... yea. Get an idea about where you want the footpegs to be on your bike, and then take a tape measure to your local bike night and do some recon.

And I have a soft spot for old Firebirds. I've owned several :D

Re: 1980 Honda CB400T Hawk

Finally got a speedo on the bike, and Im sure some will hate the placement, but I cant stand it sitting high and on top (tried it there first) :

Also, a new helmet, its an Urban N350 Moto:

Re: 1980 Honda CB400T Hawk

Negative.
That's a '76 Trans Am S/E. The "Special Edition" Black with Gold pinstripes, was to celebrate Pontiacs 50th anniversary. This was the first year for that color combo, and proved so popular that subsequent S/E's were made in following years.
The "Bandit" drove a '77 T/A S/E. Same basic body with different font end styling, wheels, and changes in the pinstriping.

^What he said^

I haven't been able to find additional pics of it, but I haven't been to the school in a while.

Re: 1980 Honda CB400T Hawk - now going bobber?

Need to snag better pics, but the bike died in the rain, believe the coil went, so as I am waiting for parts to come in, I'm playing with ideas on where to go with the bike.

Now its sitting with drag bars, no seat, rear fender hacked off, and mismatched grips.

Test rode this lil guy from craigslist, turned out a little too small for what my brother wanted to buy, but its a look I'm going for now.

CM200t:

So I want to run a drag bar, but short shocks in the rear rather than a hard strut, and to mix it up a little, a seat like Octanes Bulldog bobber, which is off a speed triple:

Re: 1980 Honda CB400T Hawk - now going bobber?

well, I was just kidding, the seat idea will look nothing like that.

Because it looks like this:

And here she is temporarily finished.

Neither bobber nor cafe, I'm not sure what to call it?

Anyone?

Tasty black T... the best stuff on Earth just got better.

;D

your bike looks good . You should look in to throwing some old spoked rims on that bad boy it would look cool instead of the five star 80's look.
