1980 Honda CB400T Hawk and the new 1983 Kawasaki kz550 ltd

Can we get a current straight side shot of the 400? The angle of the pics in the truck don't really show off the lines of the seat.

Sure thing!

I trimmed down the ends of the stock side covers, I just don't have any pics with them on.

Here is before they were trimmed:

One of mine was cracked however, so I may try and build my own for it out of sheetmetal kind of like Black Motor Covenants:

I'm not sure what else I could do, but I'd love ideas

Oh, and for the Kawa, I am thinking of raising the rear of the tank a bit, short shocks, a slim seat with a slight rise at the back similiar to the Hawk and also, I am thinking a triangular headlight:

Yay or nay?

So here she is ready (sort of) for the car/bike show in the morning:

And yeah, the seat looks funky - its drying still so its sitting a little high until morning when ill fasten it down. This was temporary anyways, ill be making a seatpan and covering it in alligator vinyl eventually.

Wow, man. I love what you did with your 400. One of the nicest I've seen.

I always wanted to ride a motorcycle in Hell. You know, in preparation. It would be nice to figure out what kind of gear I'll need when I get there.

Thanks!

Ha, right now of course Hell is frozen over, allowing for pun after pun in this area.

Its actually a nice little town to ride through. No cops, winding 45-55 mph roads through some nice woods/country.

The 400 is a crazy fun little bike to ride now that its the size/weight we wanted it. It still needs rejetting to run perfect though.

The one thing I wish it had but doesn't is kick-start. Oh well, next bike.

Over winter not much got done on the bikes, our buddy whose garage we keep them in ended up a bit distracted with a wedding, pregnancy, etc. :)

I will be updating this again as I work on them now though, I nabbed several parts for the KZ over winter, and have started shortening wires and mounted a new smaller headlight, and have a seat and hard struts for the bike. I'm not sold on the seat though... I'll post pics of it soon.

After riding in some rain and putting the bike away for a couple of days, I went to take her out and when I hit the starter button, I get nothing.

In the spirit of my last project, I figured if I have to do some repairs, I might as well go and do quite a bit more of what I have wanted to so here is how the bike sits now.

New tank, wiring split from the looms so I can pull out anything I don't need. To ensure it isn't just the switch wiring, I'll be wiring up a new turnkey boat ignition somewhere on the right side of the bike.

I removed the useless flashers for the turn signals and hazards, and I am starting work on a seatpan that I already have foam and vinyl for.

I need to pick a color for the tank, but everything else will stay black.

The wiring is almost all done on the KZ, just need to fab a box for the battery, regulator/rectifier, igniter, starter solenoid, and possibly throw the turnkey ignition in there too.

Anyone have some good ideas or pics of there electrical setups?

Heres the bike now:

Finally picked out a color for the tank as well, will be Jeep Rescue Green:

With some black striping and such over top of it.
