Well, I bought the ugliest Moto Guzzi that I have ever seen. Not that I have seen many of them. They are either pretty rare in these parts or blend in so much that I don’t notice them. I have always loved the idea of them since hearing the 1990’s song Rock 'n' Roll Lifestyle by Cake.
“Well, your CD collection looks shiny and costly.
How much did you pay for your bad Moto Guzzi?
And how much did you spend on your black leather jacket?
Is it you or your parents in this income tax bracket?”
This bike is the 50th bike owned between my wife and I (including mopeds, three wheelers and a quad). I don’t have 50 now – we are down to 7 if you include a XS400 parts bike that I bought that is complete except for a title.
This Guzzi is going to be my second café bike, but I have to build it alongside a 1980 Yamaha XS400 Brat that my wife wants (will have its own build thread).
The good thing with this Guzzi is that it is complete, running and titled. The bad – well look at it!
That is the WORST tail I have ever seen. The tank is from a Yamaha – don’t know what. I know this, because I can read the Yamaha sticker thru the paint.
BTW: I loathe black. I hate bikes that look like someone took a rattle can to. This will be more show than go. I have a fast bike, so my plan is to make it look as nice as possible for as cheap as possible. See the build thread in my sig – I built that bike for nothing and plan to do the same on this one.
