  • I may be screwed though, I put the summer tires on the yaris which I am driving today and may have a fun time getting home depending on when the freezing rain sets in

  • Maritime:
  • So far their quiet and handle good. freezing rain here today so the winter part will get tested too
  • Apr 16, 2018, 13:16:34

  • True 4 season Winter rated AT tread tires. They have an indicator for when they are no longer acceptable for winter use, they become a 3 season tire then and I'll put real strait winters on then, from what I've read I should get 2 winters beofre I need to do that
  • Apr 16, 2018, 13:09:56
  • irk miller:
  • So, are those winter tires for the Summer, Mike?  Assuming you guys don't get summer this year.
  • Apr 16, 2018, 13:06:57
  • Cursh:
  • Thanks, yall. Its full on summer here soon so im swapping in 20w50 anyway. Ill be sure to pick up dino just in case.

  • Did feont sway bar links and bushings and mounted the new tires. Didnt need balancing, smoothe right up to 85 mph.

  • OK, could be the difference. I bet the Mobil is for Harleys with seperate motor oil and trans oil so friction modifiers are ok
  • Apr 16, 2018, 11:12:29
  • irk miller:
  • The Mobile 1 V-twin doesn't have JASO-MA certs, while the 4T does
  • Apr 16, 2018, 11:01:56
  • Maritime:
  • Well Moto - specific Mobil one says wet clutch sade but my bike hated it, 100 miles in it started slipping 100 miles more I dumped it, put dino back in and after about 100 miles everything was ok again. I was pissed because that oil was 3-4X the price of the 10-40 quakerstate I replaced it with.
  • Apr 16, 2018, 10:58:45
  • irk miller:
  • It's not the oil, it's whether or not they have friction inhibitors added.
  • Apr 16, 2018, 10:53:05
  • Maritime:
  • I put Mobil 1 motorcycle oil in my CM400 Honda and it really didn't like it, got clutch slipp bad, changed it back to regular 40W and it stopped. it depends on the bike

  • I have been using synthetics i both of my 83 gs1100s for 8 yrs and have not had an issue. I would bet that it often does cause problems.
  • Apr 16, 2018, 08:23:37
  • Sonreir:
  • It's often too slippery. The clutch won't have enough friction and it'll slip.
  • Apr 15, 2018, 21:37:30
  • Cursh:
  • What’s up with fully synthetic oils and wet clutches? I’m having trouble searching that info.

  • My FIL has a lawn care business and his JD tractor kept eating belts, he was buying generics. He decided to get the JD ones and has now gone 2 seasons and no breakage

  • JustinLonghorn:
  • My big walk-behind always seems to have belt issues. I should just bite the bullet and buy actual Gravely belts for it (instead of tractor supply belts).

  • I usually get one or two cuts before I'm working on a mower.  Usually, my rider.  Tires, belt, battery- neverending saga.

  • Ha high winds are no fun, I had a real bad one once crossing the PEI bridge they close it for high winds, I was halfway accross and the lights went red, the wind picked up and I fought it the whole way, just about 1 km left it picked me and the GL up and put us back down on the other side of the road, I changed my drawers when I got to the hotel LOL

  • went for a nice ride yesterday, but the 40mph wind gusts kinda put a damper on things. Rode in this mornin, and it was 60 degrees, sunny and calm. I had a real hard time pulling into the school and not just riding right by lol

  • Tried to my my front lawn the other day. should have been a 30 minute job. Commercial walk behind snapped the blade belt 5 feet after I started mowing. Small snapper is all of the sudden getting no spark. 30 minute job, multi day ordeal.
