Guys, would appreciate some feedback from those who know:
I'm rebuilding a pair of VB's off an '81 CM400 for someone and I know you can disable those air cutoffs with an appropriately sized piece of rubber in the air hole, however, as I don't really have a way to cut a perfectly-sized piece of rubber to fit in there, I'm thinking some black RTV in there would work just as well. Yea or nay? I'm trying to save him some money by not buying new diaphragms for those cutoffs and from what I've read they're not crucial to the carb's operation, anyway. In fact, I read that the Honda factory issued a bulletin back in the day to techs on how to disable them, too.
Anyway, some input is appreciated.
