some front hub help

Been Around the Block
Hey guys, it might seem like a stupid question, but I put my front tire back on the 500. I've ridden around a little on it, and noticed there is a little play from side to side. Very little play I might add almost like a couple mm. like a washer not placed. But I'm not sure.... What would you suggest to cure?

Don't ride the bike another mile.

Looks like either the axle isn't slid all the way in or whatever spacers you have aren't done right.

Why was the front wheel off the bike? Just rubber? Is the internal spacer (inside the hub, between the bearings) in place?

You could experience bearing failure or brake seizure riding like that, either of which could prove fatal.

Thanks Tim

Tire was off for some rubber.

I just put the bike back on the lift and found that it maybe because of the lacking brace or front fender, which may have spread the forks a little. I also found one of the two retaining bolts on one side loose which may have helped the problem. Does it sound right and logical to you?

Retightened everything up, and looks good to go.
