Much thanks. That VW is proving to be a blast, no doubt.
 
Finally got off my ass and made a seat pan for this thing. It’s the last detail to work out before I can finish and paint the frame.
10mm x 1.25 thread lug nuts work perfectly to seat the springs. I may opt for a 5” spring, but I won’t know until the seat is padded.

I've never found a hardtail to be so much of a jarring feeling as a springy bounce. The frames have their own bounce to them and the seat just adds to it. Those springs undoubtedly absorb much of the shock, though. You don't feel the road like a go kart, for example. A taller rear tire is a factor in all of this, as well.
