Previous owner paint disaster.

Hello everyone!

I've got a 1980 cb750k bobber project that I picked up on the cheap.

The previous owner decided to rattle can bomb the entire motor and carburetor. The carb is flaking paint off like glitter.. You touch it and you get a nice paint chip dust choosing I whatever it touches lol.

I probably should have asked this question before I started doing this:

I decided to just spray the carb assembly work aircraft cleaner and let it sit for a few minutes and then hose of the paint. It's working fantastic. Anything I should be aware of that could have negative effects because of this?

Thanks!

Probably won't be kind to any rubber or plastic. I would suggest fully tearing them down and leaving them in some carb dip or an unltrasonic cleaner overnight.

I just ended up splitting the rack. I'll be replacing all the seals and new stainless fasteners. Might as well go and do it right!

That's!
