alright!
got the new rubber on and put in the rear wheel, alligned the belt and got that all squared away... removed the stock shocks with lowring blocks (they blow out after a few hundo miles) and replaced them with 12 in air shocks to to get the 1 inch drop in back
front wheel spacers in and cut perfect!
front fender inplace and bolted down, wheel done up front... now thats how you do a fatty spoke 21
took the bike off the lift to run a shake down to test everything out... rides great! have to say very impressed, well worth the extra work to get the soft ride that a touring bike should have... the 140 tire up front is awesome! now to button of the front lights, and then pull off the foot controls to black those out with graphite black
we started to pull the carbide out of the oven... Sean is going to try and snap a pic to show the texture of this powder... has a almost velvet look to it. very trick and should flow nicely wiht the stock motor coating work
well after a long ride in the city... i met up with Joe (owner of the bike for a beer) his Fiancé informed me that she would like her bike back to go riding with us! hahaha raced right home and started back on it... happy girl is a happy friend... will have it buttoned up this week for sure...
put on the floor board extension kit, installed the heel shift eliminator, all the stuff is coated... and installed... just have to put on the covers on the rear boards, but it looks trick with the chrome decks with the texture black boards and brackets... good call on his part for sure, i would have not thought to do that honestly...
Man, Joe that looks similar to the RK I built for my brother. Since these pics I put on some hard bags, lowered it a bit more and built up a mean 103ci engine for it.
well... every HD dealer, formum, and other person yu could think of kept telling us that it is impossible to slam a road king that is running a 21x140 front tire cause the size = a 23... well we did it....
took some trial and error playing wiht top out and spring combos then getting the pre load right and the fork oil... but we slammed the front of the road pig, then swapped out the crap st glide shocks for new road king shocks and blocks to slam the rear even more... came out wicked! well worth the extra time to make it work... check it out
side shot of the wheel, front end has a 1 inch drop and we shaved and dropped the fender 1/2 inch to allow more clearance
Goddamnit Joe! Don't make me like Harleys......just don't!
Hehe......wow, that's a smooth looking build, the 21 up front and no off side brake really makes it look lighter up front. I wish the fender mount wasn't so burly though.
we are in the progress of trying to make a 23 smooth wrap fender work on it... but it is looking like we will have to fiberglass somethign ourself as they are like 400 bucks! does look sick in person!
