XS360 Carb Float Question

I have a 1977 XS360. I need a float for it.
It has the virtually the same BS34 carb as all of the XS line.
The ACTUAL float part number is slightly different then for the XS400/650.

1J7-14985 vs 256-14985
(XS360) vs (XS650)

The actual float is very expensive and somewhat hard to find. Roughly 2x the price of a regular XS650 float.

Shoot, the retail price on the float ($50) is half of what I paid for the bike. And I should replace both.

Is it possible to substitute or replace with that float with that from another year/model BS34?

yes it may be possible....or it may be a waste of more $.
400 and 650's are the same but ? on the 360, you need to have it in hand to know for sure..is there a xs360 forum? ck there,or cirius in canada,ebay etc....
now ain't them there vintage bike parts fun to find.....
