Hi Guys,
Brought my nighthawk about 8 months ago with the idea of making her into a bobber, but after lots of research and thinking I changed my mind to a cafe racer. This is my first ever bike I have owned or even customized and it is a work in progress but let me know what you think. When I brought her she hadn't been looked after at all rusty and greasy... in short unloved!

The original girl:

Firstly I stripped her down and painted the engine and got her polished along with the forks and wheels!

Then the frame was cut and modified for the new seat pan where the battery will sit under the hump!

Then I sent the bike off to my works to have a stainless steel exhaust made along with the scorpion race can I had:

This is as she sits now with the new handle bars and the LED rear light with integrated indicators:

I am having some custom filter made too by Debolex engineering here in the UK which is a bike shop that use the UK spec Nighthawk the F2 for a few of there custom builds.. Please check them out http://debolexengineering.com/. here is the start of the filters.

A problem I have over come with picture to show soon is the oil filter as the exhausts tuck in fairly tight to the engine a stock oil filter didn't fit so I brought a remote oil filter mount and reusable oil filter from the states from http://kandpengineering.com/.

Thanks Chris

Thanks for your post. I just bought a 1997 Nighthawk and am in love with the modern bike which is primed for a classic look. I think I'm going to go for an urban scrambler but am having trouble with the seat, any ideas?
