Coast to Coast
Picked up this 450 Rebel a few weeks ago for 125 bucks. Decided to do a quick build to fund my cl project.

Im going to lower it a few inches and clean it up a bit.

Can't decide if I want to go with more of an agressive/cramped stance or make it comfortable. I like the look of the lower bars...

If i used the lower bars id want something that sits kind of like this...

Any idea if this thing will handle right being lowered like that? I know 250 shocks fit the rears minus 2 inches and a some clip ons would allow me to lower the front forks by 2 inches.

Some parts for sale if anyone needs 450/250 parts.

Thoughts?? I am open to other bar options...

and in case you are wondering...yes its fricking cold in michigan right now! 50 degrees in my shop with Kerosene heater burning full blast!

I like those a lot...is there a different name for them???...ebay doesnt seem to like that description haha...

nvm i found them

Got frame and tank painted...pics to come.

Engine cleaned up and tuned.

Carbs cleaned just need new screws

thing is ready to go back together!

Started pulling the front and rear axles out to clean up spokes and rear drum brake and rear axle is STUCK! Front came out easy but the rear moved about an inch and locked right up...Left it to soak up some penetrating oil over night but I dont think it will help. Some rust must have built up and locked it right in. The part of the axles I was able to get a look at is dry as a bone and rusty. May have to cut the head off and go back thru the other way...

Carbs cleaned, rebuilt and painted.

I would really like to get new front forks...these have the stupid reflectors built right in...

I want to paint the laces...how bad of an idea would it be to pull these off? Do they get stretched to the point where you cant reuse them or will I even get the wheel true?

Edit: These tighten from the inner hub rather than under rubber.

Spent the eveing Cleaning and painting the motor.

Thought Id try and go with something a little different. Not sure how it will turn out.

Idea is to use semi gloss and crinkle coat to give the motor a two tone look.

Finally the weather warmed up and I can get back to work on this thing.

Did some painting and mock assembly

Coming along, waiting for my seat and a few other bits but getting there. As soon as I get the 2k clear in I will see if the frame can handle any abuse. If not I will powdercoat it. Then the motor goes in awe are ready to ride.
