Darkness 78 CB750

Old School - New School - Its all about the Fun
Hello everyone, first timer here. Been a follower of DTT for the past year and have to admit I got the fever now. Cafe fever. Never was into motorcycles before but have always wanted a mechanical/paint project. Figured why not learn and have fun with everything on a bike project. I wasn't sure of what bike to start with but was drawn to the CB series and only want to do this once and the right way so I opted for the 750. I found one luckily close by and at the price range I had available. Picked her up about a month ago and she starts and rides fine which is a great start.

Ok so lets not go backwards then.

Where'd the front fender go?

Why'd you wrap the pipes?

Whatcha doin with the wiring?

The sign on the back wall says it all!

I know just what it needs

Grinded the tabs off the side to prep for a lead filler. The tank lock had a piece chipped off that I tried to restore to round(pics later)

Chopped the rear section. The hoop is next for install with a few tweaks to fit the DCC 1" round up-swept

DohcBikes, the fender was removed by the previous owner along with alot of the stock parts. It looks like he tried to start a build but didnt have the space to do it. The pipes were also wrapped by him and it was the first piece to go. Actually had to remove the pipes to roll the bike into the truck for transport on the purchase day. The wiring was tagged/documented for future information or reference, the harness is off the bike right now and hope to do a new custom harness. The seat and clubman bars are for sale as they are not going back on

Where'd the front fender go?

Why'd you wrap the pipes?

Whatcha doin with the wiring?

Damn. Poor thing doesn't stand a chance. Another one gone.

Its ok not all of us hack up these bikes and some of us actually try to semi-restore them like myself lol.

Looks like a great starter for a project, any ideas on the theme or direction you are going with?

I'm a Ford/Mustang guy too, by the way. Got any hot rods you've built?

The theme or inspiration is the Clockwork 22 750. I fell in love with this bike and is the reason I was strict on looking for a 78. A lot of people don't like the tank on them but I like it's unique style and the sleek fuel door look

Glad to see another mustang fan. Haven't built anything, just a lot of modifications. Big fan of black if you didn't notice lol
