GR650......starting over for the last time

Big R

Heaven is so far away.
I feel like I can't just keep adding to the last thread so I'm starting over here. I won't be going into the history of everything I've done (maybe a link or two when it's pertinent) so this will be like starting from scratch on a bike that I know very well. But here is a link to the last thread for those that are interested :

SIgn me up, since I have no project bikes, I need to live vicariously through those that do.

Subscribed. Loved the previous embodiments of the GR, Rich. Can't Wait to see what comes next

I am contractually obligated to subscribe to any GR thread! Can't wait to see what's in store! ;D

You can bet your bollocks to a barn dance, John. I'll be getting to that eventually ......

Once I get some time in the garage, I'll be taking pictures of updates.

Some links to the other thread of stuff that is staying......

Ducati shock info and GS750 aluminum swingarm:

Gas tank stuff (goes on for a couple pages.....)
http://www.dotheton.com/forum/index.php?topic=18045.810

There's some details with the carbs in all there too, but I'll be touching up on them eventually anyway.

Stock foot peg mounts:

Don't need all that steel in there, do I? Still needs some cleaning up, but I'll get to it.

Complete triple tree from a 94 RF900, 43mm forks from a 2001 Bandit 1200, and clipons from eBay:

Fairing mount from an 86-87 GSXR :

Mounts welded to the neck via Bradj (thanks buddy!). The crappy welds for the steering stop are mine however.....

Fairing bracket mounted up. Notice the upper arm for the speedo is bent - because it was rubbing the hell out of the windscreen:

From the side:

Oddly enough, that's all the pictures I have available right now.

Interested in how you're tackling the fairing mount since I need to do the same thing on my CB, looks good.

Good to have you guys along.

Upper fairing mount welded to the back bone (I'll make a Y shape support that will connect this to the mirror mounts):
