Speaker Grill Radiator Cover

Has anyone here used Speaker Grill material to cover their ugly radiator? I got some aluminum from Speakerworks and attached it to the radiator of my CX500.

Some people on my blog have suggested this will cause problems with heat, but I'm not the first one to try this. Just curious if anyone here has experimented with this.

Here is a pic:

I've used aluminum window screen in the past to protect coolers, seems like with the bigger holes this wouldn't be too much worse.

I would expect it to affect cooling, but not completely inhibit it.

If you are also doing the electric fan upgrade, it could actually help it come up to temp easier.

My guess is that it would lead to the system running a touch hotter than stock.

It doesn't look to be that big of a bear to remove if it proves problematic, though.

My opinion only... Looks really restrictive and doesn't offer much protection. I'd be worried about overheating, esp. in traffic.
