'74 CB360 project

Found this dusty and rusty CB360 with only 1,500 miles on it. It had ape hanger bars, extended forks and open pipes. However, it had good compression and little deep rust, so off I went.

Tore it down to rebuild as a cafe racer. The idea was to get it as light as possible - ditch all unnecessary parts, including the starter and related drivetrain and wiring.

I rebuilt the carbs, forks and brakes, de-tabbed and repainted the frame, set the timing chain tension and valve clearance, and switched to an electronic ignition. I also replaced the rims with aluminum black-anodized ones, installed new tires, clip-ons and rearsets, and trimmed the wiring way down.

Here's it is at the time of purchase, but with normal forks installed.

Here it is after a day's work. I had to use longer shocks to give more tire clearance:

After a test ride. Pulls strongly and the MAC exhaust sounds great.

Seat is custom-made by a local upholsterer in return for reviving his Virago 250. I'll probably keep the stock tank paint in spite of some rust spots.
