Long awaited CB200 Build

The battery location looks cool, and I'm confident given your attention to detail you're thinking about things like this, but consider how you're going to connect/disconnect the terminals.

Make sure you have clearance for the bolts and tool.

That and ventilation for cooling the electrical components.

Yes, it needs some thinking about to get it right. The cowl will be removable and so the battery will be able to be lifted out worse case scenario (fixed to pan rather than cowl), but it should be possible to leave it all on too

Got some new Keihin PE22 carbs delivered this week. The plan was to bore the originals but apparently there isn’t enough metal there, I had been warned this was likely the case (I’m not doing the more complex engine mods myself) so need to find some adaptors for these. Anybody know of any that will fit?

Collected some parts from the specialist who has overbored the barrels +1mm, beautifully smooth honed finish.

The air intake ports have been machined out and resin deposited in there and reshaped for a smoother air flow. He used resin in the end as adding metal wasn’t sticking, clever stuff.

Boring stuff going on in the background includes taping up engine casings for painting, now that the temperature has gone up at bit. At least it did briefly.

Nice work,
Did you match the port with the carb inlet size?

I have worked my 200 head quite a bit for smoother more continuous cross section flow, but haven’t matched the carbs yet

Yes - well, I didn’t, but the guy doing the specialist engine work did/is.

So the upsized Keihins, along with the original manifolds, have now been machined to match the new gas flowed intake ports ...

Nice job, is it the same output as original?
Mind if I ask what it cost ya?

I haven’t tested it but I think so, it was actually working before but the coatings were starting to fail so I’m not sure it would have lasted too long.

Cheap, £130 quid!

What a awesome build. May I ask what caliper that front brembo is from. Looking to upgrade my cb200 front but am struggling to find a small one to fit.

It's actually a rear caliper, as you say, nothing decent for the front fits these little bikes. I'm not even sure this setup is going to work but we'll see.

From memory its one of these: https://www.biketorqueracing.co.uk/buy/brembo-brembo-oe-rear-brake-caliper-black/20516181.htm

That’s painfully clean!

Keep at it, it’ll run in no time

That’s very nice looking.

Do you need that size for venting a crank case?
I don’t know, just asking
