  • It could have towed the camper plus a bike attached to it which would be nice.

  • The only thing I miss about the old X-Trail is it's towing. It was a really good tow vehicle for it's size

  • My grand cherokee is a champ.  It's a solid V8 with a tow package.  I just added coilovers to the rear end to handle the weight better.

  • It was making a racket yesterday and I was worried I needed to do the rear brakes again, turned out to be a rusty dust sheild rubbing, tor that off and GTG

  • We only tow 2-3 times a year and I am very easy on the CRV when we do.

  • Yep, they don't make stuff good for towing like they used to. the computers don't know what to do without a tow mode button

  • The Frontier does much better with it, but I would still prefer a full size truck for a tow vehicle.

  • Towing my camper with my Honda Odyssey was destroying that motor. Even with a Trans Cooler.

  • I wish I could afford and little more robust tow vehicle.
  • May 08, 2018, 11:21:18

  • Yep, I take it slow, the CR-V transmission is the weak point in towing, I have to change the fluid every season, I need to put a cooler on it
  • May 08, 2018, 11:20:48
  • SONIC.:
  • the duramax has so much torque that even pulling 20,000lbs I can mash it and it will actually move quickly, but it's an insane amount of strain on the engine at 40psi of boost. It's just hard not to because I can haha

  • i have to constantly tell myself when pulling a load of lumber to just take it slow, no need to mash it

  • We're maxed with just the camper and supplies. If my wife didn't drive everywhere at full throttle I could ride while she tows but the transmission would explode the first trip LOL

  • That's hard with the crap tow rating on the CRV
  • May 08, 2018, 10:51:03

  • You've got to figure out how to get a bike and the camper along at the same time
