Yamaha FRZ400RR Exup streetfighter almost 100% !!

Re: Yamaha FRZ400RR Exup streetfighter project.

Finally its actually beeing done something with this bike. Plan was to just get it going then sell it.

But it sounded so good after adjusting the valves and carbs i now wanne try and get it done ;)

Here is a clip of the first start since 2009:

Im now have a buddy working on the plastic and the fuel tank.
Its been sprayed but also need some decals.

Also wondering how too solve the problem with the clutch and throttle cables beeing too short for the new steering.
No clip ons anymore. High bars instead.

Had some thunderace brakes lying around but the dont fit. Will overhaul the original ones and spray them gold metallic :)

Exhaust will be either sprayed or maybe some exhaust wrapping on the headers.
EXUP system is not attached. Seems like they dont sell this anymore.
Not sure if ill try and solve that. We will have too see.

Happy new years everybody ;D

Re: Yamaha FRZ400RR Exup streetfighter project.

Put some new primer, paint and some coats of clear on my FZR brakes today.

Looks good and ill probably do this to the rear brake as well now. :)

Re: Yamaha FRZ400RR Exup streetfighter project.

They do sound beautiful, eh?

I sold my FZR400 last year. It was a barrel of fun.

Re: Yamaha FRZ400RR Exup streetfighter project.

Yeah. The reason this build is alive again is the sound of the bike ;D

I was going to sell it but when it fired up with adjusted valves and carbs the sound was great.

So now ill try and get it ready for the season of 2014 :)

That sounds great. Get it finished man, haha!

Re: Yamaha FRZ400RR Exup streetfighter project.

Got the parts that have new paint on them today. Looks good. Got some inspiration from my Yamaha SR 500 Cafe Racer ;)

I finally got the plates for my bike the other day. The FZR fighter is running good and also looks alot better than it used too.

Small things left like the headerpipes. Not sure what to do with those. Maybe exhaust wrapping.
It gets to hot for any paint we sell here in Norway.

Other things are attaching a small fake NOS bottle next to the radiator and maybe new tires.

This bike sure needs alot of revs to move. Might want to do the same but with a FZR 1000 from the 90's ;D

Here are some photos ;)

Tank looks good but that seat looks so dated. How about a new seat in an M1 MotoGP style to lighten the way the rear end looks?
