Thanks Crazy, I love what you've done with the Ace and reading the progression over the course of 170 pages!

I've had the SR400 for 15 months but it really needs some money spent on it, and needing a bike now I spent the repair money on the Ace instead.

The photos of you gunning it in the RNP are pretty special as well.

Thanks for the encouragement!

Rides through The Royal are always a special treat.

I've added you the owners list: http://www.dotheton.com/forum/index.php?topic=55426.msg856257#msg856257

Thanks Crazy,

5 Aces in BrisVegas...be good to get them all out for this year's DGR (Distinguished Gentlemen's Ride).

A collective noun for a group of Aces must be a Squadron.

The best we've managed in Sydney (so far!) was four on a run through The Royal and another time at the DGR:

They look great lined up together. Looks like we need a Brisbane vs Sydney shoot out for this years DGR!

Hey Sky Team Ace riders!

New owner, infact new rider here.  :o

I have just brought a bike from someone has not really been very helpful, nice guy just useless.
Anyway I had it brought to me and delivered and so far he has told me i need a new sump plug( apparently threads gone), but more importantly it has just the exhaust pipe and nothing more.  :-\

So I am looking at what I need to get to get me on the road exhaust wise and I am a little lost :(, can anyone help here?!

I am unsure what my exhaust tube size will be, I assume its standard size, so is this 35 or 45mm? I was looking at this silencer, is it any good and do i need the adaptor? Thanks for any input or direction!

adapter?

Welcome to the Skyteam team.

Hard to know if your bike still has the standard exhaust or a different one. You will need to measure the diameter of the tube at the end where the muffler fits on to know what adapter you may need.

Post a pic on here to show the exhaust, if it is the original, you may want to replace that too as it has a couple of catalytic converters in it that strangle the exhaust.

A number of us have fitted the Emgo Reverse Cone Shorty muffler. But there are plenty of choices out there and OO Racing ones will be tried and true.

Cheers

Gidday and welcome scotchegg. The original header and silencer are a single unit. Double shielded header into a 100mm long cat then into the silencer. As 2b said, can't tell without a pic.put

Don't forget to put yourselve on the Ace Locator.

Hello everyone,
Just a quick question, does anyone know of a UK supplier of the ACE that sells the bike unassembled ?
I only ask as the company i work for can assemble and complete any necessary paperwork, it might save a few quid and allow me to do any alterations before final assembly
Cheers all
Chris

Not sure of the price in the UK, but over here in the land of the stolen loaf of bread, they're dirt cheap and while I applaud your aims, it's probably a waste of time.

For me the real sweat meat is modding the bike after purchase, bit by bit.

Good luck hunting though!

Hi team

I've just updated my little booklet on the "Silver Bullet" with my own review of the bike (p13).

If you're interested it's located at:

I'm happy to take criticism and I hope modders find some of the information useful.

Sneikz...

Your little booklet is superb! A great read and great reference. It gave me the inspiration to go for first proper jaunt of the year (sunshine and dry!!!)

Unfortunately, the North Cotswold chapter of the Nissan Micra Owners Club have been reanimated by the recent sunshine and are out there prowling the lanes, cruising at the speed of beige!

Hey-ho!
It's all in the art of stopping.....

Hey, thanks for the advice.
So
Ordered a 45 universal from classic bikes with a 35m adapter.
It didnt fit and rattled! But had a dodgy black cab garage make me a diy round plate which i squeezed into place and we seem holder for now :)

Sump plug seemed a little ofd, but added a copper washer and tightened up after adding fresh oil. Maden voyage went well, but i really miss not having mirrors!
Yes my bike was sold with out mirrors, any tips on replacements that work?

Thanks again

Ebay is littered with mirror. I prefer bar end mirrors on turned down bars. It's now your classic cafe racer look.
