1984 Honda vf1000f interceptor

Yeah I used a vacula in the first place. I actually figured out my problem though... I think.. Not air, but probably the fact that I bought a 14mm master when I should have bought a 16mm.. Oh well, new one on the way

No major updates, but I did finally rebuilt the clutch slave cylinder. It was pretty cruddy.

Snap ring surface was a bit unsavory... Lots of old goop and crusty rust.

Somehow I just now noticed this thread. I reckon I'll follow along.
I thought something was missing. Must've been you

Finally got around to doing the fork seals. Thought it should be an easy job, but man it fought me getting the bushing pressed back in.

My old lathe has again become an invaluable asset to the shop. Made a set of seal drivers

The 34 year old seals and wipers were a little worse for wear.

Fresh and ready to go with new, non smelly goo oil.

Rebuilt an extra rear master cylinder as well. Gotta go to work now, but hopefully I'll get it back on later tonight. Dropping my front wheel off for a fresh tire in a bit. Hope to be getting really close to riding this week

Getting there. Just picked up my freshly mounted tire before work. Installed the rebuilt rear master. Works like a charm. I need to find some slip ons too, this this sounds way meaner without the cans lol

Well got the wheel sorted and mounted

Finished up the last little odds and ends (or so I thought) and took er out for a spin. Lost the front brakes for a so far unknown reason. And my rear shock is so soft that it bottoms out as soon as I sit on it. So back up on the rack she goes...

Wilburs makes a really nice shock for your bike. Spendy but sweet. https://goo.gl/9RtXnE and http://wilbersamerica.com

I was looking at them for my yzf project.

Jamie daughtry makes a conversion for to use a cbrf4i shock, and it is well spoken of. I may end up going that route if this v star one doesn't work out, but they are kinda spendy even for his conversion (around $450 iirc). Im sure its well worth it, I just don't have the scratch and the trip to Kentucky is coming before ill have the monies available...

This bike may be a bit new for this forum, and a bit out of the "cafe racer" group of bikes, but I figured I'd chronicle the project here anyhow. I have known about this bike and kinda half way been after buying it for a few years now. It was sitting in the garage of a co worker for years, being stored for a friend if his along side a crusty gt750. I kept asking about them and finally this past weekend I made a deal with the owner, and bought the pair and brought them home. The interceptor was last ran going on a decade ago, and I'm pretty sure it was laid down at some point, being as there was a box of extra plastics and turn signals with some rash on them, though I'm guessing it was a low speed crash, as the damaged pieces aren't severely damaged.

Planning on just fixing it up as a rider, not a show bike, but making it presentable. The clutch master is full of jelly. Replace brake pads, tires, tune up carb rebuild, all the normal stuff.

Here she was, where she sat for around 8 years. Lonely and dirty, but yearning to get in the wind again

If I push, I may have it close enough to take to barber, but we shall see.
Nice bike!!!!!
