The little Ducati Featherweight

That's a shame that you can't modify a piston from a different Ducati single. What about any other 4 smokes from that sort of era with steep crown?

Well it could be done, just not by me. Wrist pin is 18mm for the 175 and its 16 on the 160. The crown is too high, would need to be milled down. And the lowest point of the crown is 1mm above deck height.. i dont know how much meat can be taken off of the piston before there are issues

Would it be completely ridiculous if I laced up a 200mm t500 front hub for this little guy? Would probably stop on a dime and give me change ;D. If it wasn't heavy as hell I'd seriously consider it.

If you don't use it I know a fella who would buy it in a heartbeat...

collect a few more parts then it will be a lot of fun

check the motor over a lot of them had bottom end issues from over revving

here is mine last time i had it out

Hey Murray, if I were to go to a mikuni vm28 or 30, what size would you think to be better, and where would you start with the jets?

I was going to try and treat it as half a cb350 and go down from there.

28 and

2.5 slide 140 main and 37.5 to start pilot

Thanks! Sounds good to me. Is there a different carb you go with or does the vm28 make the most sense?

It took some doing but I sourced a digital ignition and full 12v conversion from a company out of Australia. Will now put out 120 watts vs 28. Also should have much stronger spark, and should by helpful in my hp quest.

All the bases have been covered. Ordered a vm28 carb, the 12 conversion with cdi, new header, and already have a muffler. I will be welding in a wideband 02 sensor for tuning. I will be doing the motor in phases. First all these bolt ons and some good tuning. Once that's done and the motor is in the bike, I will dyno it tuned and timed for what the hp is. From there I will work on the internals.

Possible seat and tank. I would obviously trim the frame to fit the seat.

well carry on then
if you like the idea of a twin cam front brake well that brake plate you have can be easily adopted to the xl250/xl350/mr250/mt250 conical front hub
which would really look trick especially with the hub ventilated like a g50
if you want a really light twin cam then a 2ls from an xl500 would be the ticket i happen to have the brake plate
