While we were at Kanticoy's during Barber, I mentioned a trick that I learned because:
A) I hate doing wiring.
B) I tend to do it by trial and error. :
When you first get a bike, or your old standby has developed a glitch. DON"T HOOK UP THE BATTERY! Instead hook a trickle charger up to your battery cable leads in it's place.
It gives you enough juice to use a test-light to test for continuity, and all your lights and switches will work, the signal lights will probably light, but not flash. Of course the starter won't spin, but a test-light stuck to the lead will show if it's getting juice.
And most importantly, YOU WON'T MELT YOUR HARNESS IF YOU HAVE A SHORT. 8)
