Metzeler ME22 tyres

Hi,

I'm going to upgrade my tyres to the Metzeler ME22's from OORacing.
But I can't figure out if I should go for the standard 3.00 size at the rear or get the 3.50.
Do you guys have any suggestions?

I would go for the 3.00.

I like the way the bike steers as is, and a larger rear might upset the balance. I will be changing tyres in the new year and will probably go for Michelin M45 in standard sizes.

Will stick to the standard size

But what would exactly happen if you put a wider rear tyre on the Ace?
Would the top speed be affected by the extra width, and would you feel the extra rolling resistance?

A wider tyre, with increased profile height, will definitely effect the overall gearing, but I doubt there would be a noticeable change in rolling resistance.
