The maintenance schedule is a bit 'tight'? I mean, changing the engine oil,checking valve clearance and cam chain tension every 1000km. Is that necessary? And if a dealer has to do that (for keeping your warranty), it might be a costly affair.. :-\

Even finding the cam chain is a nightmare

Due to the basic oil filtering I suggest to change the oil at 1000miles or less , the valves don't go out of adjustment too much once they have settled but it is an ideal bike to learn to service and take care of yourself imo.

Not sure how I would stand regarding the warranty anyway due to the amount of meddling I have done - sometimes just out of interest !

An oil change and setting the valve clearances should take less than half an hour!

The 'warranty' is probably more of an illusion than a reality.
