Does everybody else? Skyteam Ace Common problems

I, like others on this forum, have had similar problems with our Ace's and I am starting to think my issues are common to most ace owners at some point.

So I ask, does everybody else have any of these issues:
  • Warped front rotor
  • Rust on chrome body work
  • Difficulty with cold starts
  • Poor performing rear brakes [Common]
  • Gear changing lever locking up sometimes
  • Fuel leaking out the side (from the cap) when leaning to far on a corner

Please add to this! Do you have similar problems? Have you fixed them and how?

I know the rear brakes have come up before. And solutions suggested were
EBC H303 or Ferodo FSB 704 or front pads from CT110 postie bike

The list of mods done by forum members is here
EBC H303 or Ferodo FSB 704 or front pads from CT110 postie bike

Some of the mods were because of problems others just personal choice.

I have added your name to the end of the sheet, feel free to fill stuff in.

Cheers
Richard

I honestly believe that the rear brake pedal lacked enough mechanical advantage to work back pads well . Will work out some work around for this and gain done stopping power

I am sure I read a post on here about improving rear brake operation (mechanical advantage), but can't find it. Hope someone else can.

Not only Chrome parts .. all the parts rust easily!
  • Difficulty with cold starts
  • Poor performing rear brakes [Common]

I haven't had any of the rust issues none of your problems have appeared with mine

I read for months and months on forums before I bought mine and the only issue I came across was the cold start problems but most people get rid of the stock exhaust and remove the pollution crap to make cold starts easier

Just joking!

I spent most of my childhood around Goulburn - it wasn't until I left that I found out that rain was supposed to come down vertically.

Crazy

Rear hub bushes apparently come standard as "shit". I'm hoping to get aorund to replacing them soon. Anyone know a honda replacement part code by chance?

The damper bushes are 41241222000.

It's probably a good idea to replace the bolts as well: 90128KE2940.

Be very careful getting the old ones out; the casting is thin and brittle!

Thank you, as always, for your very sage advice Tom!

has anyone checked on the accuracy of their speedometers?.Sure i'm going much quicker than the indicated 30mph! i'm seeing

Got my ace yesterday and already discovered the leaking fuel when cornering, but I I may of over filled it abit. And brakes actually made me laugh everytime I tried to stop.
Mods will commence once it's ran in and had 1st service.
Cheers Carl.

I have compared mine to a GPS. 50km/t on the speedo turns out to be 55km/t. Combining that with the fact that most cars show about 5km/t too much, I usually have to keep 40km/t behind cars in 50km/t zone.
