Completely normal, it helps cool the windings. It will 'pour' out if you have bike on side stand. Usually, you need to put a 3/4" piece of wood under left center stand leg and yes, it does make a mess when using timing light
There us probably 1/4 of an inch of oil inside. On side stand I took off the inspection cover and it dripped a little but there wasn't enough for it to pour out
I was told by a friend I needed to get the motor rebuilt if there was oil where the magneto was so I'm glad I don't have to worry about getting all of that done now. Thanks for the help
