1981 cm400t brake caliper
« on: Jan 07, 2018, 21:40:28 »
hey guys I have a 1981 cm400t that currently has the spoke rims with drum brakes. I am looking to switch out the rims for the black comstar ones. to do this I need to buy the front brake caliper but I am looking to stay with cable brakes not hydraulic does anyone know of any that would fit? thanks!

the only cable-actuated disc brake I know of is cb200t and I'm not sure the caliper would bolt up to a cm400t fork leg, let alone line up with the rotor on a black comstar wheel. What is making you not want to use hydraulic front brake? it can be just as clean as a cable system if you convert to a single steel braided line and use a brake switch banjo bolt to mount it to the master cyl so the wires hide with your regular hand control wiring for brake signal to the rear light.
