Been Around the Block
I tried to put a little something for everyone in there.

Some like tunes - check
Some like engine noise - check
Most like many angles - check
Everyone wants bike content - check

;D

I think I covered everything. Couldn't find any girls in bikinis though. Sorry. It's pretty cold out ;)

Huge HD file; takes a bit to load.

Doubt I'm going to do too many more of these videos. I don't know. Kinda getting old.

Thanks, man!

I used to use Sony Vegas Platinum 10 when I was on a PC. I've since moved to a Mac and just use their imovie that comes with the unit. It's not nearly as good as Vegas but it's easy and good enough for what I need. I didn't even scrape the surface with Vegas when I was using it. It does everything and then some.

imovie is pretty cool though. It's quick, simple and "free" 8)

Can't wait to see what you film. Looking forward to it! :)

How did you get the 360 shot on the bike? A track around helmet? Über cool!

I just garaged up a boom on a swivel and mounted it on an old helmet. Boom extends past the swivel point and I have a counterweight to oppose the camera load so it doesn't pull the helmet off my head and/or you don't have to fight the camera weight the entire time using your neck.

Can't take credit for this idea though. First saw it used by a guy from Alaska on one of his mountain bike outings (another forum I visit on occasion) way back in early 2010.

Thanks for all the kind words!

Cheers

I wonder if it would be worth starting a thread strictly for DTT members videos. I know there is a general videos forum, but, it might be interesting to see what other members are dishing up - all in one place.

Might be worth it! :)

Very cool! I need to step up my game. I work in the industry and have access to shit tons of gear. I just never want to touch it after I leave work. Haha.

With all the comments on the video, I wish I could see it. The Military has it blocked over here in Afghanistan. I recently went to Cancun with my woman and used a Hero2 to shoot a vacation video and used iMovie to do the editing. I've never made a video or shot any video before. It turned out really good (at least by my family and friends' standards) and now I'm hooked! I'm always looking for new ideas to shoot or how to get a different POV.

Hahaha

I wish I had access to good equipment! ;D I hear you though...........too much like work for a person like you. My cousin says the same.....works in editing and is a quad racing junky. Could make some killer flicks but he wants nothing to do with it. I can't say I blame him.

I'm glad I don't build bikes for a living ;D

Bummer they blocked vimeo on you guys over there.

Stay safe and keep editing when you can.

Always fun to watch vids.

Not a huge fan of the music....

But I love the video! Very nice angles, great quality, sweet bike. Well done man!
